The Islanders are awaiting the outcome of the Florida Panthers-Carolina Hurricanes game on Thursday to determine their first-round playoff opponent. New York missed the postseason last year, and that led to the firing of head coach Barry Trotz in May.“We’ve played a lot of hockey, but now it gets fun,” Zach Parise said. “You zero in on a team. You focus on their strengths and weaknesses and it really turns into a chess match. Once we find out our opponent, it will be a lot of video and a lot of learning.”Hudson Fasching and Anders Lee also scored for New York, and Ilya Sorokin made 16 saves as the Islanders closed out their regular season. Noah Dobson added two assists.Rem Pitlick and Nick Suzuki scored for Montreal, and Sam Montembeault finished with 31 saves in the Canadiens’ next-to-last game of the regular season.Lee scored a pow...Community rallies for utility relief legislation

Before that happens, one group of stakeholders is urging lawmakers not to forget about a key issue impacting most Coloradans.Community members who had high bills this past winter know those utility prices may not be top of mind with the nice weather we are having this week, but they called on lawmakers to continue making this a priority.Community groups, everyday Coloradans and leaders urged state lawmakers to take up legislation to lower utility costs before lawmakers finish in May. Community leaders like Topazz McBride hope no one else experiences what Restoration Christian Fellowship did with the high cost."We have places for the unhoused and we have approximately 60 pallet homes on our property. And our bill increased from $2,500 last year to $10,000," said McBride. WASHINGTON (AP) — Ukraine’s leaders say they don’t see a major U.S. intelligence leak as gravely damaging future offensives. A key reason: They have long held back on sharing their most sensitive operational information, doubting Washington’s ability to keep their secrets safe.Ukrainian and U.S. officials said this week that only Ukrainians know some battle plans and other operational information, not the Americans, their most important ally. That means the leak of secret military documents, including some assessing Ukraine’s battlefield strengths and weaknesses against Russia, may not have been enough — so far — to change the course of the war.“If military operations are planned, then only a very narrow circle of people know about the planning of the special operation,” Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said Wednesday on Ukrainian television. “The risk of leaks is very minimal” for the most important war matters.Still, the U.S. sees the leaks as grave.
